Alberta 2-Day Asbestos Course
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY TRAINING FOR ASBESTOS WORKERS COURSE
All workers in Alberta who enter a restricted area due to an asbestos hazard must successfully complete the asbestos worker course and be in possession of a valid worker certificate under regulation. A restricted area is defined as an area of a work site where there is a reasonable chance that the airborne concentration of asbestos, may exceed the occupational exposure limit (0.1 fibres/cc). Government-approved agencies, such as WHS, provide asbestos worker training and issue asbestos worker cards. These cards expire three years from the date of issue and cannot be renewed once expired.
Currently we have no dates scheduled for 2023. However if you have a group of 8 or more who require training we can arrange a course for your group. Please call our office (403) 241-6889.

If you wish to challenge the exam and your certification is about to expire, please call our office (403) 241-6889.
In order to challenge the exam you must meet the following criteria:
WE CURRENTLY PROVIDE THE EXAM IN ENGLISH AND SPANISH.
In order to challenge the exam you must meet the following criteria:
- The worker must have successfully completed the course Occupational Health and Safety for the Asbestos Worker, or successfully challenged the exam and have a valid, not expired Asbestos Worker Card.
- The worker must successfully complete a recertification exam administered by an approved agency with a minimum passing grade of 80 percent. The worker may take a re-certification exam from any approved agency.
- Re-certification must be done by the expiry date of the worker’s current card.
- A worker who does not pass the exam must retake the two-day course Occupational Health and Safety for the Asbestos Worker offered by an approved agency.
